Battalion Chief Cliff Thompson joined the Rogers Fire Department in 1997. Chief Thompson became a certified paramedic in 2000 and promoted to captain in 2002. He holds a bachelor’s degree in fire service administration and prevention technology from Western Illinois University in conjunction with the National Fire Academy.
Chief Thompson was recognized as a Fire Officer Designee from the Commission on Professional Credentialing in 2010. Chief Thompson is a graduate of the Arkansas Chief Fire Officer Program and the Executive Fire Officer program at the National Fire Academy. Chief Thompson served as a validation committee member for the textbook titled Structural Firefighting: Truck Company Skills and Tactics Second Edition published by the International Fire Service Training Association. Chief Thompson also served as president of the Arkansas State Firefighters Association - Northwest District.
Chief Thompson served 6 years as the Citywide Tour Commander assigned to “B” Platoon. Chief Thompson is currently serving in the training division as the Emergency Medical Services (EMS) program manager.
