Flooding Causing Dangerous Road Conditions, Water Rescues Across the City of Rogers
For Immediate Release
April 28, 2021
ROGERS, AR-- The City of Rogers is encouraging residents to stay in place until the roads are safe for driving. Due to large amounts of rain, several city streets are impassable due to flooding. This will only continue to be an issue since continued rain is in the forecast through at least tomorrow.
Rogers first responders have already responded to dozens of water rescues. We continue to respond to calls for water rescue from a stalled motorists in nearly all parts of the city. We encourage residents who have made it away from home to proceed with extreme caution when returning home as road conditions may have worsened since you left home this morning.
Additionally, until the rain stops and subsides we will be unable to determine the extent of damage caused by this event. There will be areas of asphalt washout, areas of drainage pipe failure, and likely some bridge damage. As such motorists should continue to travel using extreme caution until those areas can be marked for traffic diversion.
