We are gearing up for an exciting season of youth wrestling. The Rogers Activity Center and Rogers Iron Wrestling Booster Club are excited to announce that Tim Kinnamon will serve as our head coach for youth wrestling again this season. Tim has an extensive coaching and playing background in wrestling, football, and basketball.
Tim began to wrestle as a kid in third grade in Owasso, Oklahoma. When he was a sophomore in high school he was conference and district champion and finished third at the Arizona State Tournament. For his junior year he was conference, district, and state champion. He was also named outstanding wrestler of the state tournament and received first place at the Arizona Tournament of Champions. During his senior year he was conference and district champion and finished second at the Arizona State Tournament. Tim wrestled at Millersville State University in Millersville Pennsylvania during his freshman year of college. He went on to play college football for his sophomore and junior years at Independence Junior College in Independence, Kansas. His senior year he played football at Chadron State College in Chadron Nebraska.
Tim's coaching experience includes youth wrestling, football, and basketball. From 1999 to 2002 he was the head coach for the Pittsburg Wrestling Club in Pittsburg, Kansas. He and his family moved to Rogers in 2002 and he continued to work out with his son and they competed in some tournaments in Oklahoma and Kansas since Arkansas did not have an active state program at the time. From 2004 to 2009 he coached youth football for the local Bentonville and Rogers youth football programs. From 2004 until now he has coached youth basketball teams for boys and girls through the Rogers Activity Center, Arkansas Athletic Outreach, and Competitive AAU Basketball.
We are excited for Tim to lead our program into a new chapter. Our club was one of the first in Arkansas and has had great success and we plan to build on that success with Tim. Just a few of the clubs achievements are: four time Arkansas State Team runner up, multiple state champions, six national level championships, and fifteen national level finalists.
