Testing Process & How to Apply

Entry Level Testing

The entry level firefighter testing process consists of the following:

  • Achieve a passing score on FireTEAM exam; registration through National Testing Network at National Testing Network
    • FireTEAM exam is available locally, but candidates may submit scores from any NTN Exam site.
  • Pass Candidate Physical Abilities Test (CPAT); NWA Fire Chiefs
    • CPAT is available locally, but candidates may submit certified credentials from any licensed CPAT
  • Completion of Civil Service interviews; for successful candidates
  • Completion or an interview with Rogers Fire Department Chief Officers
  • Submission of a background information questionnaire
  • Completion of a background criminal and traffic investigation
  • Conditional offer of employment extended to candidate
  • Completion of an entry medical physical
  • Final approval by mayor

After Employment Is Offered

Once employment is offered, candidates will go through a 1-year probation period. During this time candidates will be expected to successfully complete an 18-week Fire Academy provided by the City of Rogers. Probationary firefighters are required to attend the Fire Academy regardless of experience. The certified eligibility list remains valid for a 12-month period.
